Teen Court Program

Teen Court is:

 

¨         A voluntary program where juvenile offenders are sentenced by their peers.

 

¨         A program that is focused on youth accountability and development.

 

¨         An educational program that promotes positive motivation and

¨         develops a healthy attitude towards authority and the community.

 

¨         A means of interrupting patterns of potential criminal behavior.

 

¨         Designed to try less serious crimes committed by teens as an alternative to real court.

 

Volunteer Roles:

Youth serve as attorneys, jurors, clerks, and bailiffs. Adults may serve as judge, legal advisors, security, and trainers.
